Former BP football player having success in college
Former Bethel Park football player, Nick Kwiatkoski, is heading into his senior year as a West Virginia Mountaineer. Kwiatkoski has been the leader of the Mountaineer defense the past two seasons, and this year looks to solidify himself as one of the top linebackers in the Big 12.
In Nick’s sophomore season, he played the Will outside linebacker position, but moved to middle linebacker this past season. This upcoming season, Kwiatkoski is moving back to the outside, so the experience he had from his sophomore season at the position should benefit him.
Nick made over 100 tackles this past season, and recorded at least six in 12 of 13 games. This was the second year in which Kwiatkoski lead the team in tackles. Despite these last two successful seasons, most notably last year’s, he still hasn’t been in the conversation for all-conference honors.
In a recent interview with ESPN, Nick had this to say about being overlooked: “I try not to think about that stuff, just try to play my game.”
In that article, Kwiatkoski talks about the importance of preparation and watching film. This is something Nick has learned and can be very important over the course of his college career.
Nick looks to be a possible draftee in next year’s NFL draft.
Good luck to Nick this upcoming season.
