BP to host the South Hills Showdown
Are you looking for an exciting way to spend your weekend? Well, this Saturday, Nov. 8, BPHS will be hosting the South Hills Showdown. This event is a dance and cheer competition that is open to all school, recreational, all star, dance teams, stunt groups, and individuals.
Students are welcome to attend the competition that begins at 9:30 a.m. Tickets for students are $4 and $8 for adults.
This is the second year BPHS has hosted the competition, so it will be bigger and better than last year. Many teams will be performing throughout the day, with multiple award ceremonies so you don’t have to stick around all day if you don’t want to.
Maura Ellsworth, the varsity competitive squad captain said, “I think we’re going to perform a solid routine. We’ve been practicing several times a week and conditioning to prepare. This is our second competition of the season so we’re already ready to improve.”
Another fun competition that will take place during the event will be the “Jump and Tumble Off” in which cheerleaders will be able to show off their best skills.
The South Hills Showdown is sure to be something fun to do this weekend, and it’s a great way to cheer on your BP cheerleaders. Good luck, ladies!
