Baseball players named to All-Section team
The WPIAL baseball season has come to a close and summer baseball is underway. Unfortunately, the Black Hawks did not make it into the playoffs but did have several players whom were standouts on the field. These players were selected to the WPIAL Quad-A Section 5 All-Section teams.
Zac Forsyth was the only Black Hawk to make the first team. The junior shortstop was a key factor in the success that Bethel did have this year. With the ability to hit and flashing the leather almost every game, Forsyth looks to become a household name next year.
The Black Hawks had three players make the second team.
Corey Augenstein was named to the second. Augenstein, a junior, is a dominant left-handed pitcher with great offspeed pitches and a fastball that has been clocked in at 90-mph. Augenstein is arguably one of the top recruits in the WPIAL for next year.
Next, is Harry Siwik. The senior first-baseman had good success in the batters box for the Black Hawks in his finally campaign.
Lastly, is junior Joe Zufall. Zufall made multiple quality starts for Bethel this year when called upon. When not pitching, Zufall played centerfield.
Junior, Luke Hahey was a honorable mention. The second baseball is solid defensively and looks to be a big bat for Bethel next year.
"I am a huge fan of Johnny Allemang," Aaron said. This is why Aaron Modrak decided to take journalism.
