This past Wednesday, the Bethel Park Black Hawks captured a win against the State College Lions, 4-1, in the quarterfinals.
Jake Worcester started off the scoring for Bethel with a goal 9 minutes into the 1st period, which was assisted by Derek Lesnak.
In the 2nd period, the Black Hawks converted on a power play with a goal from Christian Siak, assisted by Derek Lesnak and Jake Worcester.
Later in the 2nd, Lucas Michael put one in from Sey Yeaple, putting State College on the board, but trailing 2-1.
In the 3rd, Bethel Park pulled away. Siak scored another powerplay goal, assisted by Lesnak and Worcester. Then, the exclamation point, Worcester netted a short-handed, empty net goal, that gave Bethel Park the 4-1 win.
Tre Lowe played extremely well, making 17 saves out of the 18 shots he faced.
The Black Hawks are rolling into Wednesday’s semifinal matchup. Bethel Park will take on the Pine-Richland Rams at Robert Morris University Island Sports Complex on Neville Island. Puck drops at 6:45 PM.
