Indoor track tramples the competition

On Saturday, Feb. 1, Bethel Park Indoor Track athletes headed up to Edinboro University for an indoor track meet they had been waiting for for a long time.

These athletes, because of the the weather, have had only one other meet to qualify for States, so the pressure was very intense. But all of the Bethel athletes took this pressure and gave everything they had in the races.

Because of the the determination of these athletes, many of the them qualified.

Some of these athletes include: Courtney Conway, Danielle Hinish, Karissa Coffield, Amy Bogan, Madeline Boucher, Andrew Dougher, Eric Kaminski, Ryan Zimba, David Erzen, Ross Martin, and Alexis Stevenson.

Almost all of the runners of Bethel had a personal record that day. Because of this, all of the athletes and coaches were ecstatic with the performance they gave at Edinboro University.

Bethel not only showed the skills they had in running but also the hard work they put into each practice.

With all of these athletes and more to soon qualify, Bethel has now become a school to contend with.

Watch out WPIAL, because Bethel Park is here to compete.

With all of Bethel Park walking around there is one person who will be running. Her name is Claire Makowski. Claire is involved in many different activities after school. She is in cross country, and indoor, and outdoor track. Her goals include trying to make Sates. When Claire is not running, she enjoys many different activities. Some of the activities include playing the piano, taking voice lessons, and hanging out with her friends. "I joined Hawk Eye because I was thinking of persuing a writing career and I wanted to see if journalism was the path I want to take," Claire said. After high school she would like to go to college, but after college she does not know what the future holds and excited to find out. Claire has many diferent dreams for Hawk Eye "I would like to see it grow and have it become a more popular newspaper," she said. She hopes her vision will happen sometime in the future. Claire enjoys different types of writing. She enjoys creating her own stories and writing news ones too. Claire has different goals that she would like to persue in her high school career. She would like to maintain a high GPA for high school so she will hopefully be able to join National Honors Society. Claire is very active with both in school activities and out of school too.
