In the latest regional school rankings, published by the Pittsburgh Business Times, the BPSD had an impressive showing.
Bethel Park ranked 20th out of 105 school districts in Southwestern Pennsylvania and is the ninth-highest among districts with at least 4,000 students.
The rankings, which were released this week, are based on three years of PSSA and Keystone standardized test scores from 2023, 2024, and 2025.
It’s calculated using the organization’s proprietary formula.
Elsewhere, Fox Chapel Area School District was first in the regional rankings for the third consecutive year.
Over the 20 years’ worth of school rankings, four different districts have held the top spot: Upper St. Clair, South Fayette, Mt. Lebanon, and Fox Chapel.
Pittsburgh only has six schools regionally ranked in the North Hills and South Hills, which are as follows:
- Fox Chapel (No. 1)
- Upper St. Clair (No. 2)
- Peters Township (No. 5)
- South Fayette (No. 7)
- Hampton (No. 9)
- Mt. Lebanon (No. 10)
The local rankings include districts in the Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.
Pittsburgh Business Times’ full guide includes statewide rankings, Keystone exams, standing in third grade through eighth grade, fastest-growing private firms, and the area’s best places to work.
Online and printed editions also include a color-coded map.
Nevertheless, despite everything in their way, the BPSD continues to pave the way for other school districts statewide.
