The BPHS chapter of the Delta Epsilon Phi German National Honor Society welcomed seven new inductees during an after-school ceremony held on Thursday, May 14.
Students inducted this year included senior Katharine Tabler; juniors Victoria Carberry and Alexander Skaris; sophomore Gavin DeMart; and freshmen Evan Joslin, Emma Nelson, and Jack Waterstram.
To qualify for membership in Delta Epsilon Phi, students must maintain at least a 3.6 GPA in German and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Candidates are also required to earn at least one non-weighted A during a three-semester period and may not receive a grade below a C in any nine-week grading period during that time.
In addition to academic achievement, members are expected to demonstrate integrity and a continued dedication to studying the German language.
The induction ceremony was attended by current members of Delta Epsilon Phi and officers of the BPHS German Club. BPHS teacher Holly Troesch, a former German Club president and Delta Epsilon Phi member, served as the guest speaker.
