BPHS is excited to announce that its upcoming spring musical will be Disney’s “The Little Mermaid“.
Based on the 1989 Walt Disney animated film and the classic fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, the plot follows the story of Ariel, a mermaid who dreams of experiencing life on land.
Her desires lead her to make a deal with the sea witch Ursula, exchanging her voice for legs in hopes of winning the love of Prince Eric.
With the help of her friends Flounder, Scuttle, and Sebastian, Ariel goes on a journey to set things right under the sea.
It is scheduled to take the stage from March 11 through March 14 at 7 p.m. in the BPHS auditorium.
Tickets for the musical are $15 and will be available to purchase on the district’s website beginning March 1.
People are encouraged to purchase their seats early, as the show promises to be one that won’t soon be forgotten.
Attendees will be able to recognize songs such as “Kiss the Girl,” “Part of Your World,” and “Under the Sea,” alongside new material specially written for the stage.
However, continuing with the school’s long-held tradition, this year’s production will feature a double cast, with senior Scotlyn Paxton and sophomore Sydney Glover sharing the role of Ariel.
Additionally, lead roles have also been double casted including senior Andrew Hughes and junior Liam Coll as Prince Eric, and senior Ashlyn Schmidt and junior Soph Willis as Ursula.
Lastly, the chorus teacher, Mr. Todd Kuczawa, will be directing the production.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see “The Little Mermaid” come to life.
The community should be marking calendars, securing tickets early, and getting ready to dive into an underwater adventure!
