Marching Band to host 54th Annual Band Festival
“Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the pride of Bethel Park. The Bethel Park High School Black Hawk Marching Band.”
Bethel Park Marching Band will host its 54th annual band festival on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. in the stadium.
The annual band festival is the second-largest fundraiser for the music department bringing in over $17,000.
Eight bands will attend the festival including Avella, Belle Vernon, Connelsville Area, Fort LeBouef, North Hills, South Fayette, Upper St. Clair, and Baldwin.
To kick off the night, Bethel Park will perform their pre-game show including the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner by Top 21.
After intermission, BP Drumline will perform its cadence feature.
After all the bands perform, Bethel Park will close the show by playing their halftime shows including songs such as Earth, Wind, and Fire’s “In the Stone,” Jimi Hendrix’s “All Along the Watchtower” featuring the Bethettes, and The Who’s “Pinball Wizard” featuring the majorettes.
From their Homecoming show, BP Marching Band will perform “Magical Mystery Tour/ Lady Madonna” by the Beatles. They will also perform their traditional fight song “Hot Time Bethel Victory.”
The band will do other fundraisers at the band festival including candy grams for $2 that those in attendance can send to their favorite band members, a bake sale with baked goods for $1 made/donated to by BP band members, BP music merchandise, and a concession stand.
