Band gets special surprise at last hoagie packing
The BPHS band kids woke up bright and early on the morning of Saturday, Nov. 3 to start their beloved hoagie sale packing.
Little did they know that halfway through the packing, they would all be surprised with the news that they are all going to see the musical “Hamilton” during their Spring Trip to Chicago, Illinois.
“I was so excited. At first, I really thought it was a joke, but it turned out to be true!” said senior Abby Kauric. “The rest of the day felt like it flew by, we were all so excited.”
In years past, the band has made their way to Disney World, Hershey and even Myrtle Beach.
The most memorable of those being the 2018 spring trip where Bethel Park’s concert band, symphonic band, jazz band, Top 21 singers, concert orchestra, chamber orchestra, Bethettes, majorettes and drum line won every category they competed in.
The only category the Bethel Park Band “failed” was string orchestra in which they got second place.
But this year, the band is ready to win it all.
“We hope to follow that success with another win this year in Chicago,” said senior Regan Gray.
