New way to learn about electives at BPHS

Students have recently received their course selection sheets for the 2015-2016 school year. Traditionally, students would read about electives offered at BPHS in the course selection guide.

This year, student Raul Toledo had decided students should be able to “experience” electives instead of just reading about them. He has created short videos to show students the courses offered at BPHS. They can be accessed on the Black Hawk TV Youtube page.

Toledo said his inspiration for these videos came to him while watching the hit TV show Neds Declassified School Survival Guide.

When I was in Mexico, I saw an episode where they showed the students trying out classes to see if they liked them or not. When I first came to the U.S. I thought that was the way that everyone does it. When I came to the U.S. they just gave me a gigantic book to choose electives. It was kind of disappointing.”
