This past week, senior Christian Siak was named Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Athlete of the Week.
Siak is a dynamic forward who has the ability to light the lamp at any given time from anywhere. He is one of the top scorers in the PIHL AAA with 22 goals and 10 assists in 11 games.
Siak hopes to continue his success by keep doing the same things and trying to improve every game.
Outside of hockey, Siak enjoys hanging out with friends and hitting the gym. He hopes to play hockey at the next level. He says it is a great experience to play for one of the best programs in the state and hasn’t ever enjoyed playing for another team as much he does for Bethel.
Siak believes the key for getting back to the Penguins Cup is to play every game as if it’s their last.
“We lost early in playoffs last year, and that gives us even more motivation to win this year,” Siak said.
One thing most people don’t know about Chris is that he used to play for a team coached by Penguins legend, Mario Lemieux.
Some hockey players have some ‘funky’ pre-game rituals, but not Siak.
“I take Spencer’s (Bawcom) stick and shoot pucks behind the rink,” he said.
Siak is just another one of many model student-athletes from Bethel Park. Well done Chris.
