This Christmas during the end of November and early December, BPHS students will be collecting many different items to send to soldiers as donations through PACS.
They will be collecting much needed items such as food, drink mixes, hygiene products, clothing, blankets, new or used gaming systems and games, and anything people are willing to send overseas to our soldiers. These items can include Crystal Light packets, coffee, coffee creamer and sugar, granola bars, body wash, shampoo, soap, socks, playstations, and anything closely related to these type of items.
The students will also be sending Christmas cards to soldiers. They can be home made or store bought.
The requirements for the cards are that they have to be signed with a name, no photos, no emails or addresses, and no glitter due to possible health problems. It’s also preferred to use generic salutations such as “Dear Service Member.” Cards cannot be received by certain people through the address that the students will be sending the cards to.
Students will have a table set up during lunch periods close to Christmas for kids to make cards during their lunch.
Soldiers appreciate and love recieving gifts and cards from people any time of the year. It shows that we appreciate what they do for us and people are thinking about them during the holidays. Since they can’t be home to spend the special times with their close ones, our goal is to make the holidays as special as possible for these heroes.
If anyone is interested in sending donations or cards to soldiers, you can contact BPHS for more information. Gifts or cards can be dropped off in the boxes in the cafeteria for donations or through Kara Cianca.
