Harper Zimmer, a junior at Bethel Park High School, is Hawk Eye’s Student Artist of the Week.
Harper’s art is a unique painting being showcased in the display case on the fourth floor.
The name of her masterful piece is “Not So Far Away.”
No great force inspired Harper to paint such a unique piece.
“It was completely random. I just kept adding to it,” Harper said.
Harper started her painting about a month ago in Mr. Walisch’s class, ninth period.
“I started by sketching it, then slowly added on to it,” Harper explained.
Harper did not lay out a plan for this painting; instead, she went with the flow of her paintbrush and let her imagination do the rest.
Andy Warhol is Harper’s favorite artist and inspiration.
“He was creative and had an amazing imagination,” Harper said.
If Andy Warhol could see Harper’s painting, he would appreciate her wild imagination and creativity in her “Not So Far Away” painting.
