At the end of May, the Bethel Park Rifle Team will be hosting a charity event called “Aim For A Cure.”
“Aim For A Cure” will be a test of target shooting skills amongst the teachers.
Each school subject will make up a team. For example, all of the history teachers that sign up will work together on the same team.
The teams will be taught how to safely handle a .22 rifle and how to properly shoot competition style.
Local police stations will also compete in a separate match the next day.
The winning team from both competitions will win a prize and will additionally compete against the Bethel Park Varsity Rifle Team.
All proceeds will benefit the American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO). The ACCO is an organization dedicated to helping families with children diagnosed with cancer. The ACCO realizes that cancer affects the entire family as well as the diagnosed child.
Additionally, local businesses that donate money to the cause will receive ad space on the back of the t-shirts that the riffle team will make.
Sign-ups are in the activities office for all interested teachers.
