A few weeks ago, DECA states took place, and seven kids advanced and were eligible to compete in nationals in California. In nationals every state was represented, including Canada, and also many other countries.
Over 16,000 kids attended this seven-day event. The kids were obligated to dress in business attire and take a test and prepare a presentation. The event was broken up into three parts: a test, a presentation of projects, and an awards ceremony.
The presentations were based on any category the contestant chose to take part in. The age group to compete in this competition was grades 9-12.
As this event went on, one of our Bethel Park students Grace Moodie ran for Northern Atlantic Vice- President; unfortunately, she did not win.
Although no one placed from Bethel Park, this program helps improve many important skills. If you are not part of DECA already, consider joining next year; you will not regret it.
