Recently, five students from Bethel Park attained the prestigious Eagle Scout rank.
Eagle Scout is the highest possible rank of Scouting. The requirements to become an Eagle Scout include being active in your troop for at least six months after you have achieved the rank of Life Scout and demonstrating that you live by the principles of the Scout Oath and Law. Also, you must earn 21 merit badges and lead something within the Scouts. A community service project must be completed to help a religious institution, school, or community. Also, it is required to take part in a unit leader conference and finally to complete board of review as the final step to becoming an Eagle Scout.
The five students from BPHS who achieved this rank are Adam Larson, Jarrod Cingel, Sean Raymond, Nathan Roth, and Jordan Hartung.
Adam Larson’s Eagle Project consisted of renovating a local park, Birch Tree Park, to make it safer and more appealing to the public. Jarrod Cingel did landscaping work for the First Bethel United Methodist church. Jarrod made flower beds, cleared the area, and put new mulch down to help the church convert an old playground to an outdoor classroom. Sean Raymond redid and painted a fence at the YMCA, and Nathan Roth built a staircase at William Penn including landscaping. Also, Jordan Hartung built wooden racks at the fire department.
Bethel Park High School should be proud of these students and their commitment to making our community a better place. Congrats to these students on their prestigious achievement.
