On Nov. 9, families in the Bethel Park area will have an opportunity to immerse themselves in holiday activities even before December arrives.
Sophie’s Potluck has announced that they will be hosting Sensory-Friendly Photos with Santa Claus at the Bethel Park Community Center.
It is an event aimed at creating and spreading Christmas cheer while also striving to create a stress-free environment for those involved.
Many people become overwhelmed during the holiday season, and this event acts as a break from the struggles being faced by families and people all over.
At an $11 entree fee, individuals who are interested in participating are recommended to register early through the group’s website here.
Take into consideration as well, the cost is per family, so register as a child rather than an individual.
This event also acts as the group’s last push for their Give Back initiative, as cash donations will be optional during the registry.
Although donations will allow 20% off for any future event.
The group is looking for canned green beans, canned corn, cranberry sauce, gravy, packets of stuffing, and packets of instant mashed potatoes.
Following registration, attendees can select a preferred time slot via Sign-Up Genius here, allowing their visit to be as smooth as possible.
The time slots are in 15-minute intervals, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Following their session, families will receive digital copies of the photos taken on a thumb drive before exiting the venue.
However, if someone doesn’t want the flash drive, other means of delivery will be arranged.
Nonetheless, whoever is interested should mark their calendars now while they still can.
Other than the photos, the event provides an opportunity for families to spend time with one another.
It is encouraged by many to participate in the event while simultaneously supporting Sophie’s Potluck, a group with a good cause.
