“Cinderella” takes the stage at BPHS

Bethel Park High School presents Rodgers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” as its spring musical.

“The prince is giving a what?” The prince is giving a ball in BPHS’s 2022 spring musical “Cinderella” on March 16-19 at 7 p.m.

This isn’t the original Disney version of “Cinderella.” This version is written by Rodgers and Hammerstein. The show was originally written for television as it was on CBS played by Julie Andrews. For a synopsis of the musical, click here.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Katey Muench is a senior at BPHS. She will take the stage on March 17 and 19 as Gabrielle, one of Cinderella’s stepsisters.

When asked what she is most excited about in the show, she said: “I’m excited to be in front of a full house audience again. Last year was great, but there’s nothing like performing in front of a full audience.”

The show is directed by Ms. Julia Davin and Mr. Todd Kuczawa. The student directors are seniors Angelina Magnotti and Stefi DiPrampero, and the dance captains are juniors Aubrey Manion and Alayna Banks.

When asked about how he feels about “Cinderella” being his last BPHS musical, senior Kessid Wicker, who plays Lord Pinkleton on March 16 and 18, said: “It is a little upsetting that it is my last show at BPHS, but it has been an amazing past four years. I look forward to coming back to see the shows in the future.”

The show will be double cast. These casts include:

Tickets go on sale to the public starting March 1- 11 from 9-11 a.m along with an evening sale on March 3 from 6- 7:30 p.m. They will also be on sale at the door on the nights of the show. Tickets are $10 each.

“Everyone in the show is so talented and worked so hard to make a great show. All ages will enjoy it and have a great time,” said Muench.

“It will be something that will remind people of normal times. It will also showcase amazing talent between the cast, crew, and orchestra,” Wicker said.
