Career Spotlight: Pharmacist
On November 21, Donna Matty visited BPHS, teaching students about her occupation.
Matty is a Clinical Pharmacist. She attended University of Pittsburgh, planning to attend medical school.
Six months prior to graduating from pharmacy school, Matty was hired by a major pharmaceutical company after responding to an ad posted in the New York Times.
Matty explained important school subjects for this occupation are biology and calculus. She also added that having good people skills and being committed to education is an important essential.
Pharmacists need to be very intellectual and pay close attention to details. With the big mass of addicts in the world, there are many of them that go to the Pharmacy, faking prescriptions.
