Meme Review: Super Bowl Halftime Show disappoints, disturbs
This week’s meme is the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
This year’s Super Bowl Pepsi Halftime Show was just awful. Don’t get me wrong, Maroon 5 was ok. Everyone was hyping up Spongebob’s “Sweet Victory” performance during the show, but there were only five to six seconds if that of Spongebob and the band using their instruments to bring in Travis Scott.
The main performer of the show was Adam Levine and his band Maroon 5. They were alright for the most part, but when he started taking his clothes off it got really weird, really fast. Quite honestly, Maroon 5 was expected to be more like Justin Timberlake and his crazy performance at last year’s Super Bowl.
Now Travis Scott. Travis Scott’s performance was honestly awful. The auto-tune was up and down the scale. The auto-tune made it seem like he had 10 different voices. In concert, he is out of this world, but he was just really really awful this year.
There is also a bit of controversy surrounding Scott about the whole Colin Kaepernick situation. Fans are speculating that Scott only did this for the money, but he is saying it is not true.
Notable artists to turn down performing at the Super Bowl include: Cardi B, JAY-Z, and Rihanna.
They turned down the offer because they are standing with Colin Kaepernick and his decision to kneel during the National Anthem before the game.
Who is Big Boi? Why was he performing? I have never heard of him in my life, and quite honestly I don’t need to talk much about him because he was awful.
I know I wasn’t the only one who was overly excited for “Sweet Victory” by Spongebob and Crew.
Sophomore Logan Wright had this to say: “It was a different kind of performance than all the other Super Bowl Halftime Shows, but I rather just hear the whole song.”
All in all, I think that if “Sweet Victory” was played in its entirety, and Adam Levine wasn’t weird with his performance, then I would have enjoyed the show a lot more than I did.
