Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell, more commonly known as just Billie Eilish, is not your typical 17-year-old pop star….

Eilish is an American singer/songwriter with more than over a billion streams since age 16. She goes from dark and scary to bright and joyful. All of her songs are homemade, written with the help of her older brother, Finneas.

But, she’s so much more than just a teenager who can sing.

She’s a role model to everyone out there who is afraid to be him or herself.

She’s an individualist.

To the people who follow her, she dresses how she wants, she says what she wants, and she is not scared.

In one of her interviews, Eilish said, “I’ve seen people get completely lost because they’ve been told what to do their whole lives. From a young age, I got to figure out what it is I wanted, and not be forced to do something someone else wanted me to do.” (Hannah Ewens, The Guardian).

It all started when she released her most known debut single, ¨Ocean Eyes,¨when she was 13 years old, and ever since that moment, one thing became clear– she is special.

After ¨Ocean Eyes¨ became a big hit all around the world, Eilish released her “Don’t Smile at Me” album. Her biggest hits from that album– “Bellyache,” “Watch,” and “idontwannabeyouanymore“– got more than a billion streams on Spotify and Apple Music.

Apple launched its annual holiday commercial featuring “come out and play.” Music plays a big role in the commercial, and Eilish, who was named Apple Music’s UpNext Artist in 2017, was asked to use her new song in the commercial.

Since then, she’s had increasingly large sold-out concerts, features in songs, and another big hit “lovely” in which she collaborated with Khalid.

Her newest album was released on March 29, 2019,¨WHEN WE FALL ASLEEP WHERE DO WE GO?¨, which earned her first No. 1 album on Billboard 200.  The album has also earned the recognition of the second-biggest sales week of 2019, selling 170,000 copies  in either physical or digital download formats. She also has music videos to ¨bad guy¨ and ¨bury a friend¨ that went viral.

Billie Eilish is the face of pop today and will continue to become a huge influence in the music world.
