After an 18-month fight with cancer, the iconic singer David Bowie has died just two days after his birthday.

Though David Bowie was interested in music early in his life, the 1960s were frustrating for him. He made multiple attempts to succeed as a pop-star, but it didn’t happen then. It happened in 1972, when he first found massive fame in the United States with his masterpiece, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars.

A little while later, in 1975, his song “Fame”  hit the top spot in the US music charts twice. Another one of his songs, “Let’s Dance” hit the No. 6 spot in the UK as recently as 2013.

Other than his fame in the music industry, he has also excelled in other fields of art. David Bowie has been in movies such as, Labyrinth,  The Man Who Fell to Earth, and also The Hunger.

Though he will be greatly missed, we’ll have to remember him by all of the amazing things he has done to shape the music and fashion industry.
