SPOILER ALERT
On Sunday, Mar. 30, 2014, the very popular AMC series, The Walking Dead, premiered its Season 4 finale to millions of viewers.
In this past season, the main characters and others lived in a very safe prison for a long time, until the prison had been attacked by the evil Governor they had problems with earlier in the show. Many died on both sides in this battle, but the most tragic of them all was the cold-blooded murder of Hershel.
This incident caused the prison group to separate into smaller groups of two or three, and some ended up alone, but not for long. While trying anything to survive, characters found each other, and this brought many new characters into the show. Though, not all of the characters had survived to make it to the finale.
While trying to survive living outside the jail, the members found signs about a sanctuary named Terminus that ensured “Those who arrive, survive.”
Most of the survivors from the prison group and new members that were found along the way had slowly made their way back together, finally together at Terminus, in this hour long event. They’re reunited but unfortunately it’s because of terrible circumstances. The sanctuary they had hoped would be a safe escape, turned out to be the complete opposite.
Terminus is run by a large group of cannibals who now have most of the gang held captive. Though not everyone was seen in the finale, so the question is up in the air, where are Carol and Tyreese? Who kidnapped Beth and will we ever see her alive again? Many questions are unanswered after this episode.
We witnessed some of the characters really open up towards the end of this season. We found out about Michonne losing her s0n and boyfriend during the beginning of the outbreak and the story behind her “zombie pets.” We learned about Daryl and his past with his brother, and Carol finally told Tyreese that she was the one who killed his friends.
The end of this season was an emotional roller coaster, keeping us sitting on the edge of our seats. We added new members into the prison group, found out secrets about original members, we witnessed Rick kill a guy by biting his neck, and Lizzie being killed off because she stabbed her sister to death.
The episode leaves us with a cliffhanger, keeping us anxious for the premiere of Season 5 in October. The episode ended after Rick said, “They’re gonna feel pretty stupid when they find out.” Abraham asked, “Find out what?” Then Rick replied, “They’re screwing with the wrong people.” This determined attitude Rick left us with makes us wonder how crazy next season will be.
