It’s late in October and it’s harvesting season. The fall scene paints a familiar picture. The leaves are changing. The breeze swiftly pushes the vibrant and colorful leaves along the ground. You can hear the crunch under your feet as you walk along the side of the road. Pumpkins are prevalent and pumpkin seeds are baking in the kitchen. Your grandma is even laboriously working in the kitchen to whip up a batch of pumpkin pie. Corn is picked at local farms and apple cider is freshly served.
This would be an example of a piece that a student would submit to Vernissage, the literary magazine body. The staff would read and edit this piece and publish it in their yearly magazine, Vernissage, and in some cases submit for publication on Hawk Eye, the online student newspaper of BPHS. As a Vernissage club member, you can have tons of fun by editing these insightful pieces, and you can even write or submit as much artwork, short stories, persuasive pieces, narrative essays, or poems as you want.
As a whole, Vernissage publishes a journal full of the creative elements and aspects submitted by each individual. The 2011-2012 book is still available to purchase – come to room 218 and see Ms. Totty for a brand new copy!
Check out the kiosks and keep up with Vernissage! Vernissage will try to create a short clip or advertisment each month to grab and evoke everyone’s attention.
Meetings are every Monday after school in Room 218.
