Navigating the high school experience can be challenging. Between academics, social pressures, and the everyday ups and downs of life, it’s completely normal for students to experience a range of emotions.
At BPHS, there’s a commitment to providing a supportive environment where every student can thrive. That claim is exemplified by the BPHS T.E.A.M.S. room.
The T.E.A.M.S. (Therapeutic Emotional Avoidance Monitoring and Support) room is a dedicated space designed to offer students a haven during difficult times.
Located in Room 212, the T.E.A.M.S. room is a place where you can go when you’re feeling:
- Anxious: Sometimes, the pressure of school can feel overwhelming. The T.E.A.M.S. room provides a place to take a breath and regain composure.
- Frustrated: Whether it’s a challenging assignment or a rough social situation, frustration is a common experience. The room gives space to process those feelings.
- Simply need to decompress: Even on a good day, the demands of high school can be tiring. The T.E.A.M.S. room is a quiet space to recharge and refocus.
- Upset: Life throws curveballs. Whenever students are feeling sad, hurt, or overwhelmed, the T.E.A.M.S. room offers a supportive environment.

Here’s what students can expect in the T.E.A.M.S. room:
- A Safe and Supportive Environment: The T.E.A.M.S. room is a place where you can feel comfortable expressing your feelings without judgment.
- Barrier Removal: BPHS social workers are skilled in helping students identify and address any obstacles that might be impacting their learning, whether they are academic, social, or emotional.
- Emotional Assistance: The goal is to support students in rejoining their classes as soon as possible. The social workers will work and develop strategies for coping with emotions and successfully returning to studies.
- Support from Social Workers: The school’s dedicated social workers are always available to provide support, guidance, and a listening ear. They are there to check in on student’s well-being and help navigate any challenges they might be facing.
BPHS students should know never to hesitate to visit the T.E.A.M.S. room in Room 212. The staff at the T.E.A.M.S. Room are here to help navigate anyone’s high school journey and to ensure students have the resources they need to succeed.
