Oct. 9 was a big day for both Ally Wolling and the entire BPHS community.

On that day, the standout student-athlete officially committed to playing golf at Waynesburg University for Sports Information and Athletic Communications, where she will compete at the Division III level.

Ally Wolling, a senior at BPHS, has been a prominent figure on the girls golf team, showcasing exceptional skill and sportsmanship throughout her high school career.

This decision marks a significant milestone in Wolling’s athletic career and highlights her dedication to both academics and athletics.

She remembers the moment she heard news of her acceptance.

“I was extremely excited. I was actually eating my lunch in the cafeteria when I got an email back from the coach. But overall I was super excited.”

Waynesburg University’s golf program has been making strides in recent years, with a focus on building a competitive team culture while prioritizing the holistic development of its student-athletes.

Coaches are keen to welcome Wolling into their ranks, as they recognize her potential to make an immediate impact on the team.

Her commitment exemplifies not only her dedication to the sport she loves but also her ambition to further her education while competing at a collegiate level.

This is also big for Wolling as she hopes to go on to play golf at the professional level following university.

“I want to, I really do. I hope I can, but I just got to keep working hard and see where that takes me,” she said.

Most would also respect the fact that with everything on Wolling’s mind currently, she still stays positive heading into Waynesburg University.

“I’m mostly excited for the overall college experience, being on a team and making new friends!”

BPHS will undoubtedly continue to celebrate Wolling’s achievements as she embarks on her collegiate golf journey.

Her commitment to Waynesburg University serves as an inspiration for aspiring student-athletes at Bethel Park, proving that hard work, passion, and perseverance can lead to fulfilling opportunities in sports and education.
