Student Musician of the Week: Cailey Klink
Senior Cailey Klink plays guitar, violin, and piano, and she recently recorded her own EP in Nashville.
Cailey began playing guitar at age seven, and she performed for the first time in a talent show at eight years old. She now participates in Top 21 and concert choir and has previously been involved in the music theory course at BPHS.
She hopes to one day make a career out of her music in a studio like she did with her last album, about which she said, “Getting to work with professional musicians, and helping them pull apart my songs and decide what kind of sound each deserved was something I’ll never forget.”
However, if performing and recording her music does not work out, she hopes to continue to write songs for other performers.
Klink’s musical inspiration is Taylor Swift because, she said, “Her music is relatable, and catchy, and I want to be able to write songs that get stuck in your head as easily as hers do.”
Cailey’s EP About You is available on iTunes, YouTube, and Spotify. Click here to listen.
