Foods courses offer real-world opportunities for students

Survival in the Kitchen, taught by Mrs. Simpson, is a course offered as an elective and designed to allow students to expand their knowledge of cooking.

The class participates in a variety of cooking labs, including cookies, Mexican breakfast casserole, pull apart pizza bread, and more.

Students who take this class are given the opportunity to learn skills that they will need in their futures.

Sophomore Jillian Loeffelbein said, “I took this class because I wanted to learn how to cook for myself when I move out.”

A more advanced cooking course, Foods and Nutrition, is also offered at the school.
