On Dec. 4, the lifelong dedication and hard work of Grace Ferency finally paid off as on signing day she went pen to paper to officially become a Duquesne Duke.
This pivotal moment not only marks the culmination of her hard work and dedication but also sets the stage for what promises to be an exciting chapter in her athletic career.
Ferency, a standout soccer player, has been turning heads since she first stepped onto the field. She is known for her exceptional skills, athleticism, and passion for the game.
Her resilience, strategic thinking, and strong work ethic will not only serve her well on the soccer field but with her business major as well.
When asked about her reaction to being accepted to Duquesne, Ferency said, “I was happy when I got the official call but leading up to that date I was aware ahead of time that they were interested.”
“I was close with the coach through ID clinics I attended there and talking to him after my club games when he came to watch,” she said.
As Ferency embarks on this new chapter, she looks forward to facing the challenges and opportunities that come with playing at a higher level.
The Division I college may be intimidating to some but not Ferency.
“I am excited to be attending college in the city and seeing a new side of Pittsburgh,” she said. “I am also excited to be playing some of my old teammates from my club team that are also playing in the Atlantic 10 conference.”
With her talent and ambition, the future looks bright for Grace Ferency as she prepares to take the field in her new Duke uniform and represents her school with pride.
