On Friday, Nov. 15, the varsity football team took the field for the last time this season.
Coming off of a big win at the Wolvarena in the WPIAL quarterfinals, the Hawks were looking to keep that momentum going, but the Rams had plans of their own. When time expired, the scoreboard read 28-7 in favor of Pine Richland.
The Hawks got the ball to start the game. Unfortunately, Pine Richland intercepted it, and they scored a touchdown, making it 7-0. The Rams would later score two more touchdowns before halftime.
At halftime, the Rams lead 21-0.
At the 9:00 mark of the third quarter, senior #5 Mitch Paschl intercepted the ball at Bethel’s own 35-yard line.
With just 45 seconds left of the third quarter, the Hawks picked up their first touchdown of the night. #6 senior running-back JaVaughn Moore ran the ball into the endzone for a 3-yard touch making the score 21-7. Moore only had 59 yards on 21 attempts.
In the 4th quarter, the Hawks’ junior #33 Kahanouola Kuewa blocked the Rams’ field goal.
Throughout the game, senior #43 Clancy Orie had 10 tackles, nine solo tackles and one TFL, which helped the Hawks’ defense.
Senior Tanner Pffeuffer finished the game with 8 of 17 passes for 41 yards.
The Hawks finished 2-1 in the playoffs, an improvement from last year. They ended their season with an overall team record of 10-3.
Congratulations Bethel Park on another amazing season!
