Lady Hawks soccer shuts out Baldwin on Senior Night

A 3-0 victory over section foe Baldwin on Wednesday night served as a fitting gift to the girls soccer team’s nine seniors.

The Lady Hawks recognized Alex Francus, April Lucidore, Katie Erfort, Samantha Shields, Sophia Coda, Artemis Conaboy, Olivia Dawson, Alexandra Tekulve, and Logan Burke.

Artemis Conaboy got the momentum going for the girls early on in the contest. After leaving a Baldwin defender in the dust, she delivered a beautiful cross to Callee Dalbon who hammered in the first goal of the night.

Shortly thereafter, it was like deja vu as Conaboy yet again beat a defender and passed the ball to Dalbon who finished it upper ninety opposite side.

Keira Mehalko dribbled the ball on the end line and put it on the runway for Logan Burke to finish it, giving the Lady Hawks the 3-0 lead.

With the victory, the girls improved to 6-5-1, 5-5.

They play again Thursday at 4 p.m. against another section opponent, Hempfield. The last time these two teams met, the Lady Hawks won 8-1.
