The boys varsity soccer team was Dennis the Menace for neighboring Mt. Lebanon on Saturday.
After playing six section games in a row, it was time for the Hawks to take a break. But their idea of a break was moving up a division.
And they were a thorn in the Blue Devils’ side.
Following back-and-forth action, when the final horn blew, the Hawks were the victorious ones.
At halftime, the score was knotted at zero thanks to a clutch PK save by Adam Thompson in goal.
Lebo did get revenge early in the second half, but Thompson came up big again, this time not as a goalkeeper but with a clutch header goal from the corner to tie it up with 7:00 remaining.
With just 3:00 remaining, Henry Gaston buried a PK to give the Hawks the 2-1 lead.

With the win, the Hawks advance to 7-1 and continue what’s now a seven-game winning streak.
They return to section play on Tuesday, Sept. 19 when they head to Ringgold HS for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
