Goalkeeper Luke Rubican guarded his net like a sentinel as the Hawks blanked the Falcons 4-0 in a section contest Thursday night.
In the first half, Xavier Jackson opened the scoring on a prudent feed from Jackson Friday.
Adam Thompson followed that up with a goal of his own to give the Hawks the 2-0 lead.
Just before halftime, Xavier Jackson set up Jackson Friday for a clean finish. The Hawks headed into the locker room sitting comfortably with a three-goal advantage.
In the second half, Xavier Jackson was again a pivotal playmaker as he headed down a big cross and Henry Gaston settled it and tucked it nicely in the corner of the Falcons’ net.
Outstanding offense, stout defense, and impervious goalkeeping gave the Hawks the 4-0 victory.
With the win, the Hawks remain undefeated in section play.
The boys (6-0, 6-1) travel to Mt. Lebanon on Saturday for an afternoon game.
