Football is back and most importantly the Saints are back. On Monday night, 7 p.m., the Saints played the Texans to open up both their seasons. This was to be one of the most anticipated games of Week 1.

The Saints are coming off a 13-3 season and the Texans are coming off an 11-5 season, both the best in their divisions.

The Texans started out hot, going up 14-3 by the end of the first half.

Then the Saints came back with three touchdowns to take the lead 24-21.

With Houston driving down the field late in the fourth, they scored and took the lead 28-27.

In the fourth quarter, with 38 seconds left on the clock, the Saints received the ball on their 25- yard line. Drew Brees drove the Saints down the field to Houston’s 40-yard line. With time expiring, the Saints kicker, Will Lutz, kicked a 58-yard field goal to win the game, 30-28.

This game was a quarterback duel. The Saints’ QB, Drew Brees, threw for 370 yards with two touchdowns. Deshaun Watson, the Texans’ QB, threw for 268 yards with three touchdowns, and also had 40 yards rushing.

This game was one of the most exciting games of Week 1. Next week, the Texans will have to bounce back against the Jaguars. While the Saints secured an important Week 1 win, they will try to keep the streak going next week against the Rams.
