Softball team defeats Allderdice, 15-0, on March 28.

The girls softball team came up big this week and took their section title. Their overall record this year currently is 12-3 and 11-3 in section play. Coach Semplice-Scott also got her 100th win against Seton-La Salle.

One of the big section games for the Lady Hawks was against the Big Macs. They ended up splitting the section with them. The first time they faced each other (April 8), it was an exciting game going into 9 innings. They ended up winning 18-17. Unfortunately, the second time they played them (April 29), they lost 9-5.

Baldwin, another section rival, split their two games with Bethel as well. At Baldwin on April 16, the Lady Hawks seemed to hit pretty well, winning 14-4 and only playing five innings. The Lady Hawks fell to Baldwin the second time at home 1-0 on May 3.

Sophomore Reagan Milliken said, “Winning section is fun, but playoffs are what we’re focused on now.”

The Lady Hawks will face the Norwin Knights on Wednesday, May 15 at 4 p.m.

Good luck to the girls softball team as they look to win a WPIAL championship.
