The softball team is all smiles at their game against Peters on March 27.

The girls varsity softball team (10-1) sits in first place in Section 1 and in 6A.

After a 10-game winning streak, they suffered their first loss (10-2) at the hands of section-rival USC (7-4) on Thursday, April 25.

The team has a good mix of young talent and seasoned veterans, which are key ingredients for success.

“I just feel like we’re playing as a whole. Last year, I feel like we were kind of separated and not moving as one, and this year we’re all super, super close and found our rhythm with each other and learned to trust each other and get on with it,” said sophomore left-fielder Gianna Sciullo about the team’s success. The Hawks have a matchup against Canon-Mac at 4 p.m. Monday at the high school.
