Firsthand account of the Super Bowl
Even though the Super Bowl was over two weeks ago, it is still a talking subject in most classes that I have been in. However, I got the neat opportunity to go to the Super Bowl and here is my opinion of it.
The game, as most watched at home, was really slow and not exciting at all. At the game, it was pretty slow, too. For Steelers fans here in Pittsburgh, it was not that fun to see Tom Brady/Bill Belicheck and the New England Patriots dominate over Jared Goff/Sean McVay and the Los Angeles Rams 13-3.
The game was not an offensive game at all but more a defensive game, in which the Rams set the record for the lowest scoring points from a team in a Super Bowl.
Enough with the sports talk. Let’s talk about the Halftime Show. Adam Levine and Maroon 5 were amazing to see live, but otherwise, it was kind of lame. People have seen better Halftime Shows, and even though the performance with Travis Scott and Big Boi was average, it will not make the history books, besides the fact that Adam Levine took his shirt off. That shocked me as an audience member because no one saw that coming.
The tailgate I attended before, however, had many performers, and one in particular, Tim McGraw, was pretty fantastic to see live and got the audience pumped up for the game.
Another thing that confused me in the audience at Mercedes Benz Stadium was the Spongebob tribute during Travis Scott’s part of the performance. Were they just trying to add time to their performance as a distraction or they just added it because they wanted to? Either way, I was confused sitting in the stands and people were confused at home as well.
The Super Bowl was a super fun experience otherwise. Everyone hypes it up to be so exciting, but the game itself was not that exciting. The food I had at the tailgate party before the game and the food at the game was fantastic and surprisingly was at reasonable prices. Everyone was really nice while I was there and enjoyed being there.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience that usually only happens once in a lifetime. I will never forget going, and I certainly hope I could get to go again someday.
