Pens host Hurricanes on “80’s Theme Night”
After a disappointing 3-2 loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night, the 5X time Stanley Cup Champions Pittsburgh Penguins will face off against the Carolina Hurricanes on “’80s Theme Night” Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at PPG Paints Arena.
Fans are invited to wear their best 80s-inspired attire and enter to win Penguins Jerseys. The game-night presentation will also include numerous video and musical elements from the 1980s.
The Hurricanes just finished up a brief two-game homestand that began with a 5-2 win against the Golden Knights on Friday night, and then ended with a 4-3 loss to the Calgary Flames on Sunday night.
Now the Hurricanes begin a five-game road trip that faces off Tuesday night in Pittsburgh against the Penguins.
The Hurricanes are now 25-21-6 and are in fifth place in the Metropolitan Division.
The Penguins just finished up a set of back-to-back games which began with a 5-3 win against the Ottawa on Friday night at PPG paints Arena, and ended with a 3-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night in Toronto.
Now the Penguins come home to face off against the Carolina Hurricanes before going on a three-game road trip that starts Thursday night in Florida.
The Penguins are 28-18-6 and are in second place and are four points behind the Metropolitan Division leaders the New York Islanders.
When Tuesday night comes around, the Penguins and Hurricanes will meet for the second time this season. These two teams last played in Carolina where the Penguins shutout the Hurricanes 3-0 on December 22, 2018.
Even though the Penguins still have injuries to Evgeni Malkin, Zach Aston-Reese, and Justin Schultz, it should be an entertaining game on Tuesday night, “’80s Theme Night” in Pittsburgh.
