Three cross country stars run their way to States
The varsity boys and girls cross country teams competed in the WPIAL Finals at California University on Thursday, Oct. 25 which was highlighted by sophomore Emily Carter who crossed the line in 19:02, earning her third place and a spot in States on Nov. 3.
“When I crossed the finish line, I was shocked that I came in third but also really excited that I had qualified for States,” she said. “I am really excited to get to race against some of the fastest girls in the state.”
Senior Eli Allridge and junior Antonio Burkhart will also represent BPHS at States in Hershey, PA.
Allridge ran a time of 17:05 earning him 18th place and Burkhart finished 28th with a time of 17:25.
Additionally, at the JV Championships on Monday, Oct. 22, freshman Kaitlyn Hughes finished 13th earning her a medal.
