Hawks go 3-1 in first round of playoffs
Boys’ lax, boys’ baseball, and girls’ lax each advance; Track & Field and Boys’ volleyball still to play
It was a successful first round of playoffs for the Hawks.
On Monday night, the girls’ lacrosse team defeated Norwin by a score of 12-9! Top scorers included: Zeiler-6, M. Miller-2, Zilcosky-2, and Gavett-2.
They now face Mt. Lebanon at Mt. Lebanon on Wednesday, May 17 at 7:30 PM.

Unfortunately, the girls’ softball team didn’t fare as well. After a hard-fought game, the Lady Hawks came up short 6-4 against North Hills. Great season, ladies!
On Tuesday, the boys’ baseball team defeated Shaler 6-4 in their first round matchup. With the win, the Hawks made history– first time they ever beat Shaler in the postseason.
Justin Meis had the CG win. Top stats from the game: Pritchard-3 hits, Barnot-2 hits & RBI, Loughman-2 RBI, Lucchitti-2B & 2 runs, Kogler-2 hits & 2 RBI, Rogers-RBI.
They will play Mt. Lebanon in the second round on Monday, May 22 at Boyce Mayview Park in USC at 7 PM.

On a different field on Tuesday, the boys’ lacrosse team defeated Fox Chapel 13-6. Top scorers included: Mattola-4, Konopka-2, Ferris-3, Dailey, Bussard, Wodarek, and Crist.
They next face USC on Thursday, May 18 at North Allegheny at 6 PM.

After a bye in 1st round of the WPIAL playoffs, they will meet Shaler on Thursday, May 18 at Penn Trafford High School at 6 p.m.
