Athlete of the Week: Delaney Gregorious and her softball skills
This week’s Athlete of the Week is dedicated to sophomore student, Delaney Gregorious. Congrats!
Delaney, who is on the fast pitch softball team, has been playing softball since she was four years old and has always enjoyed being on the field.
Her positions on the team are shortstop and catcher.
When asked how she got interested in playing softball, Delaney said, “My dad really wanted me to play and he got me involved in softball was I was super young and I guess I kinda just stuck with it!”
With softball in mind, when asked about her long time future goals, Delaney said, “I would really love to be the first female to play on the Pittsburgh Pirate’s Team.”
Wow! Not only does Delaney play softball and excels in her school work, she also enjoys riding dirt bikes and hanging out with friends in her free time. With all that fun comes responsibilities, and Delaney is always someone you can count on!
Delaney wants to continue to play softball throughout her entire life and if not for the Pittsburgh Pirate’s, she would love to play in an adult league for fun.
“Life’s what you make it,” added Delaney.
Look out for #1 on the field and make sure to cheer on the fast pitch softball team!
