This weekend, Super Bowl 47 will take place on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Baltimore Ravens will be representing the AFC, and the San Francisco 49ers will be representing the NFC.
This game has been dubbed the “Harbaugh Bowl“, as this is the first Super Bowl in which the opposing coaches will be brothers. Baltimore’s John Harbaugh and San Francisco’s Jim Harbaugh will be facing off against each other for the second time. In their first and only meeting, which took place on Thanksgiving in 2011, John defeated his younger brother Jim, as the Ravens won 16-6. The Ravens are underdogs by 4.5 points, which is nothing new to them, as they have been victorious underdogs in two straight games.
The Ravens haven’t folded in these playoffs. Even with their backs against the wall, the Ravens, under their veteran leader Ray Lewis, have somehow made it to the Super Bowl. Their Super Bowl run this year is reminiscent of the Steelers’ run in 2006, when Jerome Bettis was considering retirement.
Both teams have play makers on offense and defense. The 49ers have a two-headed running attack with the beast Frank Gore and the evasive Colin Kaepernick. Baltimore has Ray Rice who can evade defenders easily, and Anquan Boldin, who has super glue for hands.
All in all, this game could go either way, but I would give the upper hand to the 49ers, who honestly have too many weapons. Like I have said before, I can not and will not rule the Ravens out of this one, as they always seem to find a way to pull off the victory. Look for Ray Lewis, in the last game of his career to demolish anything in his path to his second Super Bowl championship.
