On Oct. 18, during halftime of the football game vs South Fayette, the Marching Band will celebrate all its senior members.
Each year’s Senior Class selects a song to perform during halftime, and this year they chose, “Copacabana” by Barry Manilow.
Senior Riley Lloyd is excited for Senior Night. “I’m sad that this is my last year, but I’m thankful for the friends I made throughout my years, especially the sister ASMR group chat,” she said.
While the students learned new music, the Bethettes and Majorettes learned an entire new routine to this music.
The Bethette routines are usually created by the head Bethettes Anna Kelly and Izzy Lybarger, but on Senior Night, each senior can create their own 8-count of routine to perform.
Senior Kalee Moorhead created an 8-count of routine. When asked how she came up with it she said, “ I tried to go with the flow of the music. It’s a really fun song to choreograph to. I’m super excited for senior year and grateful for all of the friends and family I’ve made throughout the last 3 years!”
Another tradition is for some of the senior band members to dance with the majorettes. Head Majorettes Alyvia Sohyda and Charlize Donaldson choreographed a routine and worked on moves that these band members could do. This year, there will be 12 senior boy band members dancing with the majorettes.

Alongside other traditions, the student directors will create the charting for the halftime show. This year, Carly Dowell and Caleb Steel had the pleasure of creating it.
When asked about creating it Carly said: “It felt amazing to be able to write the senior show. From my freshman year, I was always amazed how the student directors created the show, and being able to do it now is such an honor.”
Caleb said: “It was something I’ve been looking forward to. It was very stressful figuring it all out but Carly was awesome to work with.”
