BPHS begins Wish Week
Have you ever wondered what you would wish for if you had a chance? Realistically, for most people in the world, their wish won’t come true. However, BPHS is doing their part with Wish Week.
Wish Week starts on Monday, Feb. 11 and continues through Friday, Feb. 15 and is sponsored by SGA. There will be special wish boxes at the end of each rotunda in the school.
All you have to do is write your wish down on a slip of paper and drop it in the box, and SGA will try to grant your wish. However, unrealistic wishes or “too big” wishes will not be granted.
SGA sponsor Mr. K said: “Your wishes will most likely be granted if you ask them for someone else. For example, if you ask for a coffee for yourself, you will most likely not get it. However, if you ask for a coffee for your favorite teacher, then you will most likely get it.”
Obviously, your wishes also can’t be outrageous. For example, you can’t ask for a new car or something like that.
The following week (Feb. 18-22) is Spirit Week. All students and staff at BPHS will have a Spirit Assembly on Friday, Feb. 15 to kick off the week. In that assembly, students will be able to pie in the face some of their favorite teachers for a small fee of $1. All funds will go to the Humaine Society.
Students will also be permitted to dress up for Spirit Week. Monday is Black and Orange Day. Tuesday is Dress Like a Teacher Day. Wednesday is Rivalry Day. Thursday is Throwback Thursday. Friday is Class Color Day. The senior color is red. The junior color is blue. The sophomore color is green. The freshman color is green.
Along with dressing up during the week, there will also be games during all lunch periods. On Monday, Feb. 18, there will be a limbo game during all lunch periods. On Tuesday, there will be musical chairs. On Wednesday, there will be “put the beak on the hawk.” On Thursday, there will be corn hole. On Friday, there will be a hula hoop that the students can use.
Wishes made during Wish Week will be granted during Spirit Week.
Be sure to show your school pride and participate in Wish and Spirit Weeks.
Every Friday night, the football games are full of fun and marching band music. The marching band plays throughout the game with unity and confidence....
