BPHS offers many electives for students
It’s that time of year again, time for students to make their course selections for next school year.
Teachers have made their recommendations for students’ core classes, and beginning Friday, Jan. 19, students can logon to eSchoolPLUS and select their courses.
In addition to the core classes– English, social studies, math, and science–students can select electives.
With a school as diverse as BPHS, there is an elective choice for everyone.
For example, students who have a passion for writing may want to look at Creative Writing or maybe Journalism *wink wink.*
If you are interested in the arts, there is Painting I and Painting II. Ceramics, which is a popular choice among many students, is also a great choice for students who want to create art.
Students with a knack for foods have options like Survival in the Kitchen, which is also a student favorite.
Media Productions is a big hit with students who are interested in filming and editing.
There are also classes like Sewing or Child Growth and Development.
The diversity in electives ensures that students will always have classes where they can fit in and learn something new.
High school is the best time to refine any skills you may already have, or maybe learn some new ones. It never hurts to try new things, you may be surprised by what you learn.
In addition to the online Course Selection Guide if you want to learn more about the above mentioned electives, or any other ones not mentioned, make sure to check out BlackHawk TV on YouTube. There is a playlist full of videos describing course choices.
