BPHS to stage ‘The Heist’

On March 11, 1927, the first armored car robbery took place here in Bethel. It happened on the street now known as Brightwood Road. A gang used explosives to blow up the armored car and steal $104,000.

The Heist is an original play written by Bethel’s own Mrs. Williams based on this historical armored car robbery.

BPHS students will be performing this play for this year’s Fall Play.

All of the students participating have been working hard to make this a successful show.

Between the cast and the crew, it is clear the excitement is bubbling.

“I am very honored to be a part of Fall Play. It’s one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I love everyone here,” said Sydney Watson, a senior actress in the play.

“I can’t wait for everyone to see the show, I’m sure they’ll love it,” Maria DeIuliis a junior and props member said.

Abbie Coltz, another senior actress also said this about the show. “I really appreciate the play a lot because I enjoy historical fiction. I appreciate that we can do it and help people learn about it in a fun way.”

When asked about what she thought about the play, Mrs. Williams had this to say, “I am so very proud of the cast and Stage Crew. They are a group of extraordinarily talented students, and I am so excited for them to share their hard work the community.”

The Heist is showing November 9, 10, and 11. Tickets are only $5! What a steal!

All three shows start at 7:30 p.m.
