BPHS raises the bar at lunch
Here at BPHS, health matters. In an effort to achieve this goal of being healthy, but also finding a way to be full and satisfied, our cafeteria is adding a new build-your-own salad bar into the kitchen!
This new healthy choice offers students and staff the chance to personalize a delicious meal with a vast majority of fresh produce all while staying healthy.
Starting on Tuesday, March 21, and continuing every Tuesday and Wednesday, new salad bar will be open to all students and staff in every lunch period.
The salad bar will cost a very reasonable $3.10 as students are able to choose from a vast majority of fruits, veggies, proteins, and dressings on their salads. Tuna, chicken, turkey, ham, and steak will all be available to load onto your customized salad along with an array of cheeses.
Students and staff are able to choose bread sticks, dinner rolls, a slice of garlic bread, fries, or fresh fruit as a side to go along with your personalized salad. The various types of dressings allow students to top off a healthy lunch just the way they like it!
Homemade salads such as Cilantro Lime Slaw, Black Bean & Corn, Broccoli Salad, Pasta Salad, Chickpea Salad, and Rice Salad will also be available as well.
The cafeteria will rotate top selections so everyone can enjoy them, and make sure you vote for your top 3 choices! The lunch ladies are looking to add as many selections as they can so your feedback on the salad bar is important.
Many students are looking forward to this new opportunity for lunches.
Senior Bridget Heh said, “I can’t wait to be able to customize my very own salad! I’ll make sure to load my salad with tons of fresh carrots and other veggies! Can’t wait!”
“Why couldn’t they have added this sooner! I have 9 weeks left in this school and I would’ve made a salad every day! But at least they did it, the variety of toppings makes my mouth watering for that Cilantro Lime Slaw,” said senior Yulduz Mamedova.
Clearly, students are buzzing about this new lunch choice, so make sure to try it out and create your own starting March 21st!
