This year, Spirit Week will take place from February 27th- March 3rd. The grand finale of the week will come with the much-anticipated floor hockey tournament during the 40-minute homeroom on Friday, March 3.

Sign-ups will be held during the week before the tournament, from Thursday, Feb. 23 to Wednesday, March 1. Participants should turn in their applications to the Activities Office or to their gym teacher by the deadline, March 1st. However, it is encouraged that they do so ASAP because of the 12-team limit on the tournament: admittance will run on a first come, first serve basis. Applications will be available to students in the Activities Office, their homerooms, and their gym classes via the teachers.

Permitted to be on a team are three players, one goaltender, and one substitute, with a limit of five players total. Teams are also limited to 1 varsity ice hockey player per team.

The games will be 6 minutes in length, with two games being held at the same time.

The winners of the tournament will receive a gift card of their choice or have the option to donate to the charity Spirit Week activities will be raising money for: Beverly’s Birthdays. Beverly’s Birthdays is a nonprofit organization that provides birthday parties for children in need throughout Pittsburgh.

Also, Black Hawk TV will live stream the tournament during the 40-minute homeroom, much like the ping-pong tournament last year.
