Student Government finishes Staff Appreciation Week
Every year as school begins to wind down, SGA’s Staff Appreciation Week picks up.
SGA organizes a week of themed events for the BPHS staff for all they do throughout the year.
This was fiesta themed and SGA tried in every way to incorporate that theme. From centerpieces to the food that catered the cookout, the theme was carried during the week.
The events started bright and early on May 28th with the staff breakfast. Each floor’s planning center had Bruegger’s Bagels, fresh fruit, coffee, and much more.
The breakfast was ready for the teachers by the time they got into school that day.
Mr Allemang said, “It brought smiles to our faces and warmth to our bellies.”
The following day was the Lunch Lady Luncheon. This lunch was held during 8th period after the Lunch Ladies finished up serving lunch for the day.
At this lunch, the lunch ladies were treated to Rowdy Barbecue pulled pork, vegetables, mac ‘n’ cheese, and grilled chicken. The lunch ladies also got cake from Bethel Bakery and a chance at taking a hit at the piƱata.
The biggest event of the week occurred on Friday with the staff cookout. This was held outside in the courtyard.
In contrast to the rest of the week, the sun shone brightly for this event.
All staff was welcome to come during Periods 5, 6, and 7 to pick up a gift, grab a bite to eat, play some corn hole, or just relax under the tents.
This event was catered by Moe’s. The staff had a choice of soft or hard tacos with chicken or steak and plenty of toppings. Of course, there was also queso.
There was also free cherry and mango Rita’s.
Mr. Allemang said, “It’s great to feel appreciated for our efforts. We look forward to it every year.”
With all the events coming to a close, SGA can list this Staff Appreciation Week as a success.
